"I’ve spent most of my music making career in the classical and new music realm - “concert music” as it has been called, or more ridiculously, “serious music.” Truthfully I’ve never been that serious, nor have I been concert - it was a world that I never really felt I belonged in, musically or friendship-wise. Ultimately, I’ve never really felt like I belonged in general. It seems my whole life I’ve been playing tourist across multiple friend groups and situations, never really landing anywhere for long.

With that, I present of Feelings and Fiction, an album about feeling like you don’t fit in and the false realities you may create to cope. I don’t know what it’s supposed to mean, but I think that’s the fun of it. It’s disorganized into three storylines each in three acts, squeezed between a beginning and end.

Genre-wise it’s all over the place, which is pretty representative of my head space. Sometimes there’s jazz-ish stuff, other times rock-ish stuff, occasionally a classical thing or two (there is even a waltz!). As/if you listen, I hope you find at least one thing to connect with - such is the hope for all things (I think).

P.S. I’m not much of a singer, but I did it anyway. I’m also not much of a lyricist, but I did that anyway too."
